Rotation, alignment and balancing

Keeping wear even and the car tracking straight.

You'll learn
  • Understand rotation, alignment and balancing
  • Know which checks an owner can do and which need a professional
  • Recognise warning signs early

Overview

Rotation moves tyres between positions to even out wear. Alignment sets wheel angles. Balancing removes vibration.

In depth

Rotate every 10,000–13,000 km unless the car has different front and rear tyre sizes.

Heavy EVs can knock alignment out after potholes. A pull to one side or inner-edge wear means it needs checking.

Use correct lift points

EVs must be lifted only at the marked points so the battery pack is not damaged.

Key takeaways

Remember this
  • Rotate roughly every 10–13k km.
  • Check alignment after big impacts.
  • Lift only at the marked points.
